Dr. Scott Kawamoto grew up in Aiea. He attended college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and medical school at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. He did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Hawaii Internal Medicine Residency Program. He then completed his subspecialty fellowship training in Rheumatology and Immunology at the prestigious Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Dr. Kawamoto opened his private practice in 2009. He is board-certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine and is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.
He has been a great support and has volunteered his time to help educate with the Hawaii Sjögren’s and Lupus Support Group and Lectures. He was the first guest speaker in October 2011 and continues to participate and share his knowledge to help raise awareness. As a member of the medical advisory council with the Sjögren’s and Lupus Foundation of Hawaii he continues his support for those living with both autoimmune diseases.
When he has spare time he loves spending it with family and friends!
